The Ferrari of the FSX world

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I currently use a Phenom 100 as my personal FSX transport to go with my work Airbus and Avro's, but I want "something for the weekend".

I want something 2 seater and very fast, but not military.  Basically a Ferrari for the Sky's

What's my options?

regards

Not a 2 seater, but the Pilatus PC-12 is the Ferrari of the skies. Carenado modeled it nicely and in the forum there are mods to fix most of the issues. There are a lack of repaints but the airplane is solid. Could use a new sound set.

Might be a little different from what you're looking for, but the RealAir Lancair Legacy is a 2-seater hot rod, and is very well done.  Highly recommended if you want a fast GA prop.  It is also very underpriced at 25 Euro.

You definitely need the RealAir Legacy !

The PC-12 is great but it's a utility aircraft - not really sporty.  The Legacy is a turbocharged hot rod of a single!    As an addon it's also much better than the Carenado PC-12 in my opinion.

.....you won't find a bad review about the Legacy - anywhere!

I agree. IMNSHO the Legacy is simply the best.

And, BTW, Lamborghini is far better than Ferrari.

Only a one seater, although there is a 2 seat variant, not modeled though in FSX. The A2A Civilian P-51D Mustang. I have the original Military version myself. Now that's something to play with on the weekend!!

Thanks

I never really gave the RealAir Legacy much of a look, but after following the link to the RealAir site and checking it out, it's going to be a definite buy when the P3Dv2 version comes out.  I have the new RealAir Turbine Duke V2 for P3Dv2 and it rocks!  Thanks for the heads up Graig.

Marcus, if you don't already have it and it doesn't have to be a two seater, give the RealAir Turbine Duke V2 some serious consideration.

Check out:

RealAir Legacy

Lionheart Bellanca & Epic LT

Carenado's Malibu Piston Mirage

I know you said not military but the A2A P51 Civilian & the Iris T-6A are worthy of consideration.

A pilot is always learning and I LOVE to learn.

You want a Ferrari... okay. Try the Dash 8 from Majestic.

Looks like a bus to me.

Based on the OP's description I would say the RealAir Lancair Legacy is the one to go for. However I simply can not make a post about the Lancair without mentioning BayTower's RV-7, which is more of a Caterham than a Ferrari. It's not as fast, sleek or sophisticated as the Lancair but depending on your mindset you might like it more anyway.

The current Legacy is not turbocharged.

They're doing a super legacy for the P3D update with twin turbocharged engine though.
