SweetFX frame rate

Recommended Posts

Hi all , anybody have loss of frame rate when turn on the sweetFX effects? I lose about 10-20 frames.

Thanks

No definitely not, no loss of frame rates when using SweetFX whether in full screen or windowed mode.  It would be easy to spot using the Scroll Lock switch.

I haven't noticed any fps drops.

it depends which effects u enabled in sweetfx, some can influence fps, but 'normal' setup is not affecting fps at all

I will try Artpom , thanks!

I disable HDR and i had a gain about 7~10 frames. Now i have a diference between SFX on and off about 5~9 frames.

Things getting better...

So also check DPX ( i do not know what's that ? )

If still have big fps difference then it might be some other reason not SweetFX.

( check also that you have latest version of sweetfx )

Apparently i gain more 3~5 frames turning off DPX. Still has a slight difference between SFX ON and OFF but has improved without HDR and DPX...

Relative to other reason not SFX , i dont know because this diference occurs only when active SFX.

Very thanks Artur

SFX has some post processing filters for special effects, but as you experienced, those might be heavy for system.

Generally to improve visuals it is enough to use tonemap, curves, lift gammagain, vibrance ( at least those are enough for me )

Those are harmless to your system and good enough to improve originally blunt colours of FSX.

Sorry for delay - few days out of home.

My present SFX setup is very simple.

Before you will analyze it, you must know that in fact setup really depends on your system.

I have tried few settings based on very nice screen shots, when i copied those settings to my computer effect was totally different and awful.

Also DX9 and DX10 require different settings ( presently i am on DX10 ).

The best way for SFX is to try/change different settings by yourself, enjoy.
