Top Posters

Recommended Posts

I have just had a look at the "Overall Top Posters" section of the forum (I didn't even realise it was there), and a couple of observations are worth noting.........

Jim Skorna is the top poster (about as predictable as night following day)

Chock hasn't posted since 29th July 2012!

I remember Chock being an active and enthusiastic member of AVSIM, so I just wondered if there was a reason why he has not been here for nearly three years. Has he just become bored of flight simulation? Has anything happened to him? Does anyone know?

I remember him, he was very helpful.  I seem to recall that he became very busy with work.  I know that some members of AVSim staff attempted to contact him to ask if he was OK.  As far as i know nobody managed to get hold of him.

Tom sent an e-mail as I recall he was a moderator at the time and he got no response from him. He had been "beta testing" just released ProATC-X along with me and someone got on him for posting images of the ###### swastika on his aircraft and he suddenly stopped posting.

I read that those crosses and swastikas were placed on aircraft and pilot jackets during WWII to show how many flights over enemy targets a pilot had done and how many targets he had hit. Those were definitely not antisemitic in nature, that much I do know for sure.

Cheers!

And I agree.  AVSIM did not remove him.  He left after someone complained.  However, there is a possibility something more serious happened to him and we probably will never know that.

Didn't he do a model of the Graf Zeppelin airship? I seem to remember a heated debate about whether the swastika should be on it(as it was for real)

Or maybe I'm thinking of someone else.

EDIT: Partial brain fart. It was the Hindenburg

I remember Chock as well.

One of the last big threads was something about an ATC (was it Pro ATC?) program. That garnered several pages of comments.

I also remember that swastika. Being a minority myself I wasn't interested in seeing that, but he did explain why (and I remember not being put off about it).

Last I remember from him was that he was tied up writing/developing software or doing training for a company in the Manchester Airport area.

Chock (Alan Bradbury) was visible on a few other forums for a couple of years after he 'disappeared' from AVSIM, so I guess he chose to stop posting or partaking in AVSIM.    But I haven't seen him on any other forums for about 18 months now.

PS..... excuse my ignorance but how/where do you view the Top Posters?

I note that I'm currently at the #6 position. I have no hope of becoming #1 because I refuse to indulge in pointless "one liners" or "snarky remarks..."

...the only point to which is to boost my post count! :LMAO:

I am currently #24 in the rankings, and only 17114 posts behind the leader  At my average posting rate, it will take me another 33.2 years to match Jim's current haul :LMAO:
