How to take all my BSS areas and combine them into one folder?

Featured Replies

i now have a bunch of random Utah and California areas installed. How would I take say, 15 California areas and combine them all in one folder? It would just be easier than having 15 seperate areas to turn on and off in the scenery libary. Thanks!

Greg Smith

  • Create a new folder (like "BSS California").

Shift all the California BSS scenery folders into the new folder. (Only the subfolders called 'scenery'. Starting with the 2nd scenery folder, Windows will ask each time whether it shall integrate the current scenery folder into the existing one - of course!)

(I would start two instances of Windows Explorer because it makes shifting folders to the new location much easier and quicker. Shift folders from one instance to the other one.)

Disable all the single BSS entries in the scenery library. (the ones for the "tiles")

Add the new folder as the only active library entry. (the one for the whole state)

Test the scenery in the sim. If everything's alright, delete the library entries for the tiles, and also the actual tile folders on your disk.

What do ya mean I can delete the files on the drive after I add them to the libary?

Greg Smith

You now have a number of "rogue" folders left, named "LAS_North7West10" and the like. These are empty, because their scenery subfolders have been moved to your new "BSS California" folder. So the "rogue" ones can be deleted.

Ok cool!

Let me make sure I'll do this right. I am gonna make a folder say called klaxtoklas.

Then take all the scenery folders and move them into the klaxtoklas folder? So I should have like 20 different scenery folders inside the klaxtoklas folder?

Then just add the klaxtoklas in the libary?

Greg Smith

Create klaxtoklas folder - correct.

Move the scenery folders - correct.

20 different scenery folders in the k...s folder - NOT correct. Windows will merge them into a big single scenery folder. That's good because that's what the sim needs.

Add the k...s folder to the library - correct.
