Presenting Douglas DC-8-71F's mist approach to runway 05 of MMCZ Cozumel International Airport located at the Caribbean coast near Cancún in the island of Cozumel, Quintana Roo, Mexico

MMCZ APP Controller:  Clear for approach to runway 11

Me:  Negative to runway 11   My DC-8-71F is too long and cannot make backtracking on runway 11.  Requesting approach to runway 05 which has exits without need for backtracking.

MMCZ APP Controller:  Roger  You are authorized to change direction to head to approach runway 05.

Me:  Affirm to clearance for approach to runway 05

On final approach to runway 05

Now taxiing to end of the runway to reach exit for taxiway B





Stopping to make right turn to exit from runway 05 into taxiway B toward cargo hold area
