Thinking of buying MU-2

Featured Replies

Hi guys

i am contemplating getting this bird, however I have read a few reports that some of the VC textures are a bit average and a bit cartoony. I am probably a bit spoilt with Real Air and Milviz aircraft that have superb VC's.

If anyone who owns it would be kind enough to comment on this I would really appreciate it.

Many thanks

John

Having just spent 2 hours in the air with this aircraft, I can not recommend this aircraft enough. Yes, the texture's are not what you may be used to. Mark and Joe are actively working on this project to continue making it better. What it boils down to is what you prefer. If you want a lot of eye candy, with barely functional systems, hit up Carenado. If you want a superbly modeled aircraft, that flies like it should, with devs that are constantly striving to make it better, you found the right bird.

Based on what I have seen from these guys they really are an up and coming group that will be nipping at the heels of the eye candy makers pretty soon. Flysimware is essentially 2 guys that make quality aircraft for us to enjoy. Go to their website and look at the list of products. Each release gets better. I know I sound like a cheerleader, but if you like realism, buy it. Prior to finding out about this release I purchased only PMDG and A2A level products. I have long loved the MU-2 and hearing about this project got me interested. When I heard the distinctive howl of the "Whistle Pig" on the preview video, I knew I would be buying. And I have not regretted it one bit.

So, get out your wallet, and get this bird. If you have it, pair it up with the GTN750 and you will have many hours of quality turboprop flying in your future.

Couldn't have said it better. Not to mention the customer support is some of the best out there.

Looks like most of your quote came from a post that I made and the interior textures  just need a little texture work which I see  are happening already. Other than

that this plane is Fantastic, The flight model is real close and a real treat to fly. Paired with the GTN  you will not be Disappointed.

There Customer Service will blow you away, I had troubles downloading the new file sent them a message and received help  in Minutes  yes i  said Minutes.

Flysimware might be up and  coming as far as developers go but there doing it right,   The MU-2 is rock solid and now i'm looking to see what they will release next .

it's a good flying plane and the start-up sequence is a lot of fun, as are the sounds...but I wouldn't exactly call it rock solid just yet due to a number of remaining issues having to do with the autopilot, flight director and possibly even simconnect systems.

Have a read around if you haven't already to be more clear on the issues. I know they are working hard on them, ...so it's likely just a matter of some more time.

If you don't mind being somewhat of a beta tester (or if you don't use the a/p f/d systems anyway) then take the plunge now...otherwise you may want to wait a bit longer is all. Lots of potential in this one. I can see myself flying it for a long while to come :-)

...and yes, kudos to Mark for working his butt off...whether it be on the plane itself or customer service issues!

Thanks for all the replies guys. Re the above post, where is it stated that they are working on the textures? That would be great news.
