Carenado Hawker 850XP or........wait?

Recommended Posts

I love Flight simming, I really enjoy complex and well designed aircraft for FSX. I have for example the PMDG 777, NGX and the A2A 182 Skylane, amongst others. I would LOVE to have a bizjet in my hangar but....it just seems that those who don't like Carenado, really don't like them and those that do range from ok to happy with their purchases. I am not interested in the Eaglesoft Citation X, its too outdated in its graphics.

Do i get the Carenado Hawker knowing its systems are not of the same level as A2A and PMDG and be satisfied with an airplane thats ok in comparison to the others, or do i wait for the next Eaglesoft bizjet to come out?

Leonard

Eaglesoft is not sitting on our hands. The in progress CX3.0 total model/graphic rebuild is likely to fit your and others needs.

It will have to wait until completion of our current XLS+ project with training level PL21 that works out of the box.

No guesswork involved..buy and fly. B)

Can you give us a timeframe for the xls? Is it in beta and possible release by the summer?

Summer release is not possible. Alpha tests on external model/textures are in process and early shots are available on our new Facebook page if interested.

Just check Eaglesoft Flight Simulation and like us if you do. B)

bummer. I do not use Facebook but I was hoping to enjoy your great a/c over the summer. Looks like I will go Carenado and hope they release a 2nd service pack to tide me over.

Just Flight also do a Hawker, which isn't bad although not close to PMDG quality. How it compares to Carenado, I can't say as I don;t buy their stuff anymore unless it's heavily discounted. Both Xtreme Prototypes and Lionheart do 20-series Learjets.  I think the jury is out on which is more realistic but from experience, with a low-end system, I can say that the Xtreme Prototypes version gives very good frame rates.

(And I prefer my manuals without a load of religion bundled with them.  )

Have you looked at the Flight1 Mustang? I've got over 1500 hrs in it. It's not a Hawker or a C5 but, it does have some good systems modeling and flight dynamics. It's also Navigraph updateable.

Might be a good interim small jet for you.

I have the H850XP and it's definitely fun to fly.

One critical element involves adjusting the initial fuel load to match your flight length since the simulator (P3D) fills it up 100% at start. If you don't adjust this, it flies like a brick

The FMS works with a few bugs, don't buy this if you want to fly it like an Airbus (full auto-flight). I'm refining manual approaches with this bird. Lots of fun island hopping in the Caribbean.

I hope they have the following in the next service pack:

  • FMS fixes
  • Shortcut to activate the lift dump spoilers

I wouldn't consider any of the new Carenado jets.  Truly, much rather have the Flight1 Mustang (Not FSX-SE compatible nor P3D compatible).

Ron,

Are you considering making the new aircraft compatible with LINDA?  Not trying to stir the pot...just asking.

Greg we don't do Linda at this point... What is the interest in Linda from a sim pilots perspective?

LINDA, from a sim pilots prospective, allows use to more easily use our panels and yoke to their fullest. Without it and SPAD, a lot of things just won't work with saitek panels for example.

Like I have their radio panel, switch panel, multi-panel, yoke, multiple throttle quadrants and combat rudder pedals.

If Eaglesoft's gauge programmer uses XML to code the avionics it will be compatable with Linda as long as he exposes the L:vars

If he uses C/C++ then Fsuipc macros will work, Eaglesoft added key mapping to the CX750 which is a last resort but does help.

If you don't have the F1 Mustang, you should consider doing some research. It's a beauty!

The Hawker is fun to fly, easy to control, and basic navigation is possible.

It's visually stunning and the sounds are excellent. I also love the lift-dump system.

I'm enjoying it, even though it isn't a PMDG. B)

Ah, if I understand correctly there are some who use it as hardware interface instead of FSUIPC or some other methodology?

Sorry for going off topic from the OP.

Sorry, we don't do XML Avionics. Looks like the FSUIPC approach will have to do the job for those who have hardware periphials.
