What's a good freeware fighter jet? F-16 or F-18

Recommended Posts

i am looking around the Avsim library and I just don't know what's a good jet to get. I am looking for either a f16 or f18.

Just something to fly around really fast and explore photo real and orbx regions.

Thanks guys

Is the acceleration pack required for the f 35 lightning? I am only on sp2? Or is the acceleration just for some of the gauges to work correctly? Thanks

For the F-35 and also the FA-18 that I recommended, Acceleration is needed for some of the gauges

in the panel and afterburners to work.  I also have only FSX with SP2 and have flown both.  They will

Fly OK, but on occasion,  will give a CTD, as stated by Dino in his README file.

Try this one from the Flightsim.com Library.   fsx_f-16_updated.zip

Also a Dino F-14 Tomcat for both Acceleration and SP2.  I have this one and it works!

It there any jets that don't require the acceleration ?

Here's a general list of FSX freeware models:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1evs2QG5wtUJCEXw6MH_wMoYQxPKXY6lb5q1X8xgdRvU/edit#gid=0

You might have to take the plunge and download those aircraft you are interested in to check if the readme mentions any Acceleration requirements.
