NAV DATA OUT OF DATE

Recommended Posts

Why do you put another post with the same issue? I already answer to you in you're previous post.

Hi all,

I think the two posts about Navigraph NAV data are slightly different.

The original post said "I get an out of date message on the FMC" to which you replied how to stop the message happening using old Navigraph Nav data.

This later post says "I have the latest data but the FMC still shows the old data package date." which is slightly different.

I too have this issue, I bought a new Nav Data package yesterday. My Navigraph installer shows PMDG Nav Data as installed in the FSX/PMDG file but the FMC in the 737 I am flying today still shows a date of sometime in 2014.

Does anyone else have the same issue and know why it happens?

Thanks for any help.

Happy Flying,

Dave Phillips.

Hi,

Just an update, I have sorted out the issue I was having.

All other aircraft had been updated to Airac-1505 except my PMDG ones, so I manually downloaded the PMDG Airac files from Navigraph instead of using the FMS Data Manager, and all is now reading Airac-1505.

If you are using the Navigraph database manager program, you need to be careful when initially telling it where to install PMDG files. The installer needs to be pointed at the main folder where FSX/P3D itself is installed - NOT at the PMDG folder therein.

If you look at the main folder structure of FSX with Windows Explorer, there will be a folder inside called PMDG. Inside of the PMDG folder is a sub folder called NAVDATA. Inside of that folder are the actual AIRAC files. If, inside of the NAVDATA folder is another folder called PMDG, with another NAVDATA folder inside (I.e. FSX\PMDG\NAVDATA\PMDG\NAVDATA), then your database manger has "buried" the actual AIRACS one layer too deep, and will need to be reconfigured.

I'm getting this error off the FMS even when the updated have been installed by Navdata Pro and Navigraph FMS Data Manager. AIRAC-1505 is installed.

The biggest cause of this I've seen is when the Simulator date/time is set to a time in the past.

Double check your FSX/P3D *simulator* time, set it to 'now' then your FMS won't throw the error.

Alternatively you can go to [sim directory]\PMDG\NAVDATA and open the fmc_ident.txt file and edit this line...

[ident]
NavData=AIRAC-1505
OpProgram=APR30MAY27/15
CoData=JEP-1505

Yep, and not only the navigraph program, but the aerosoft navdata has the same problem.

You can solve it to manualy place it in the right folder.

really scratching my head on this one

Steve, did you double check the time/date in the simulator? if so, just check it again...for me! :)

did checked the file fmc_ident.txt and all info was correct. This one is really scratching my head on this one cause I checked my earlier backups and it seems those files are similar to my setup.

Sometimes the Navigraph FMS Data Manager will do something really odd, I haven't figured out how to reproduce yet.

It will erroneously create a FMCWP folder, which hasn't been used since the FS9 NG, and the current navdata files are put there.  Move those files to the NAVDATA folder and that problem is solved.  I don't think that i the case here but mention it just in case.

Why is NDP-1505 and not JEP-1505? :o Does it make some difference? I allways have JEP both on PMDG and Aerosoft NavDbB.

Steve, maybe this helps?

After you change the date, reload the aircraft.
