That's correct, however all the fan headers on the maximus vii can work in pwm or DC mode, and they can all be set individually to regulate off of the CPU temp or the mobo temp. All of them are 4 pin pwm capable. But yes, you can easily spilt one pwm header into two fans or two pumps.

FYI Guys do not use included thermal paste before installing cooler - use the pea method with arctic silver - I tried it - then right away took it back off and the result was terrible wanted to see and it was nasty it was a very thin non consistent layer - yuck

Guys I never see my cpu temps go beyond 46 degrees while running P3D - wondering why you have these much higher temps has to be the corsair coolers doing their thing I guess - I use a push and pull method

 

I will have to check what the CPU temperatures are when P3D is running. I was referring above to Prime 95 stress tests that really hammer the four cores.

 

Nevertheless, I think there is a way to add a second fan on the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO (to get that "push and pull" you mention), and that might be a cost effective way of getting some additional cooling.

Agreed, in fact my best results were running a vertical stripe on the CPU about 1mm wide. The stripe ensures that the TIM is covering the entire processor, not the whole IHS. I'm pretty sure the pea method works best with the GPU die.

Do not use the latest prime 95 with ANY Haswell CPU. Your temps will shoot above 100c with even the best cooling. Prime95 26.6 will give you a better real world idea of your max temps.

You can do the same thing with the cooler master 212, just use zip ties if there are no mounting options on the cooler for your second fan, and get a pwm fan splitter to run both fans off of the same header, as long as it is a 4 pin.

Yes but with Kraken G10 you need to buy a nzxt cooler of a Corsair H75 water cooler - H80 will not fit pump is a rectangle - kraken hole is round
