Fore Feedback Yoke Flight Illusion & P3D 2.5

Recommended Posts

The Flight illusion and the Brunner simulates wind turbulence...

True, but they are also three times the price of what I paid for my Iris Dynamics yoke!

I think Russel (FS Force developer) is working on implementing wind turbulence into a future release.

The iris price is 1500 euros, as the Flight illusion, the brunner is  1700.

But, in fact, no  one of those twice simulates real wind turbulence... only random.

I did briefly speak to the FS Force developer regarding wind turbulence, and the main issue with implementing it properly is that the weather engines (Active Sky, OPUS, etc etc) all use slightly different methods of injecting weather into the sim, so it is difficult to isolate the wind values and transfer them as forces to the yoke. Also some aircraft such as the Majestic Q400 run the FDE outside of the sim itself which also adds another hurdle to syncing with the flight model.

I pre-ordered my Iris yoke, the cost of the yoke delivered to me in the UK was approx £650 GBP. So at the price I purchased the Iris at, the Flight illusion and brunner were x3 the cost.

ok.

I saw the value of the forces on the axes. Don't you feel they are a bit weak ? They are for the brunner 22 lbs instead of 7 for the pich and 3.7 instaed of 2.5 for the roll ?

I don't want to disturb people  :( but before purchase, i want to be sure I do the good choice

Hello,

Somebody can tell me if the turbulence of the wind (gust...) are synchronous bethween the sim and the yoke in the Flight illusion ?

I am lucky to have mine already

Control loading yokes are awesome, very expensive, but awesome!

It simulates the effect of wind turbulence too ?

I wouldn't want one if it did.

In more than 2,000 hours flying real airplanes, I never once felt "wind turbulence" in the flight controls.  All that stuff is in the imagination of sim code writers who've never piloted a real airplane.

When taxiing it can be felt in the yoke and rolling down the runway the forces can be felt as speed is gained. In flight turbulance can be felt thru the yoke. Just like the real thing.

Your "real" flying experiences were much different than mine.  I owned a Cherokee and a Comanche over 20 years, and don't remember ever feeling any "flight turbulence" in the flight controls of either of those planes, nor in any of the numerous other airplanes I flew over the years.  Felt turbulence in the seat of my pants, sure, as the airplane got pushed around in the air.  But not in the yoke - just didn't happen.

I have 2 buttons on my Cessna yoke (1) push to talk

Hello !

I recieve  my yoke a few days ago.

I learn now  all the settings...

I can't affect the button to push to talk.

How did you do that ?

I can't select it in Fsuipc. I would use it in voxatc.

  Supersym:

I have different software as it is a complete panel with dual yokes which is V10.08.  You may have V.5.3.0.which is for the yoke only.  I am thinking the 2 versions work basically the same. Open the program, click on  "configuration" , then click on "yoke" settings. Then select "switch assignment". A screen will open where you can assign your ptt button.Press your PTT switch and select an unused assignment. The button will flicker "red". Then save the setting.
