NVidia 352.86 ..This NOT the SLI driver for P3D!

Recommended Posts

I think SLI will only help if your graphics card is the bottleneck.

Afterburner is good in that it can log both graphics and cpu performance, which you can then graph.

And you can overclock your card - if no improvement in P3D results then don't worry about SLI.

I can see that I have one cpu core maxed 100% (by the rendering engine) with the others less than 50%, as expected.

I haven't worked out the significance of the graphics counters yet, but it doesn't look like the card is my bottleneck.

Does anyone have a good link explaining the meaning of the various counters? All the ones I've found are how to set it up.

Cheers

Keith

I must be missing something.

Neither FSX nor its successor, P3D, is coded for SLI.

If it was I would have a second card installed immediately.

Two cards may help with multi-monitors, but the game is not running in SLI.

I run two monitors and a TV set off my one card ( a 790).

The dream, what is the dream?  P3D in 64 bit and SLI.  Now wouldn't that be something!

For Pete's sake you guys, stop trolling and stop saying it won't work.  It does.  It has a P3D profile has SLI setting  (and will work surround SLI with 3 monitors). I have it working and so do many others now.  Read Rob's thread here and on the LM forums - he's a mod on both.  Read Saul's (an LM guy) input. So an LM guy is using it - doesn't that tell you something?  Paul, read the bit about the guy using 3 monitor surround SLI with 2 other monitors! (Tho' found better to non-SLI and use one card for the 3  :P)  I have had it working with SLI 3 monitor surround but not well because of my monitor config.

All this BS from those who haven't even tried it. Just try it - if you don't like it, just roll the driver back.  Simples!  At least Poppet has tried.  Those who say it doesn't work or doesn't have SLI just haven't tried it . . .

FSX isn't coded for SLI and P3D wasn't - BUT IT IS NOW!  NVidia HAVE introduced an SLI driver version. Ian, you are missing something . . .

And I'm all for being non-sensible sometimes, but let's try and keep the humour separate.  The non-sensible bits have dragged the original discussions on SLI into the no-mans land of the trolls.  Don't you realise that some of the naysayers not only haven't tried it but don't even have P3D?

Hurrah, Where's the like button...?

I wasn't saying it won't work - just that it might not offer improvements to everyone, which, trolls apart, could explain why some say it works and some say it doesn't.

I guess you do. P3D2 is SLI compatible and now there is the first SLI profile out.

Oddly enough, at least one person reports that the latest driver caused his popup panels to go fubar...

...I read a similar report on another webforum (SOH) yesterday.

According to LM, P3d is coded for SLI. They were just waiting for an nVidia driver with a new 3d profile for P3d.

Do you have a link to where that was stated?

I totally missed that

Seek and ye shall find -

Google is your friend! Or search the LM forum for SLI.

LOL! Just goes to show, you are much nicer than I Jay.

I just believe in the saying:

Give a man a fish and he'll eat for the day

Teach him to fish and he'll never go hungry.

If more people would learn to use the search functions, THEY would learn a helluva lot about a lot of things and get answers to questions they didn't even know they had.

Vic I totally get where you're coming from but it's dangerous to just assume everybody is super lazy and has never searched for anything is the thing. I'm all over the forums and search all over and dig for stuff everywhere and just because I couldn't find exactly what you were talking about doesn't mean I'm lazy and I've never searched.

I find it's often just more helpful and takes the same amount of time to simply post a link for someone rather than posting a comment about "hey go search for it"
