Warsaw - Leipzig via Dresden with the Tu-134

Recommended Posts

Sim: FS2004 aka FS9.x

Textures: FS9Evo

Sky/Clouds: HDEv2

Sceneries: MK Studios Mateusz Stabryla (Warsaw Airport EPWA freeware), Drzewiecki Design (Warsaw City Scenery), Aerosoft (Dresden/German Airports 1; Halle-Leipzig/German Airports 2X), Helfried Miersch/Stefan Kaudelka/Stefan Barnd (Saxony freeware scenery with landclass), Michael Spengler (East-German military airfields), some landclass corrections for Eastern Saxony by myself
Plane: SCS v.2.0

Actually the very last pictures from my round-the-world flight. Returning from Warsaw to my home town Dresden and finally to Leipzig. The weather during these flights was much better than reported (I always used real weather), so I was able to enjoy the view.

Approaching Germany with a view on the lakes which have filled the former brown coal mines

Almost the last miles, the Elbe valley already in sight

Final approach to Rwy 22

Touchdown. The meadow behind is my preferred place for watching planes in real world

The Ju-52 is a regular visitor in Dresden (her downwind leg to Rwy 22 is just above my house ... B) )

150530%20Tu134%20EDDC7_zpspl78xwhw.jpg

Well and this is almost VFR flying, transferring for parking in Leipzig.

The very last take-off

After landing in Leipzig Rwy 08L: This is the view most people have onto Leipzig airport...

150601%20Tu134%20EDDP2_zpsnmmqd9vr.jpg

... because (almost) nobody flies from/to Leipzig. It's a cargo airport almost exclusively.

150601%20Tu134%20EDDP7_zpsclkgrysh.jpg

But the Tu-134 knows where she belongs to: The Interflug traditional fleet.

And so this is the really last picture.

Love those older planes. I can smell the cigarette smoke permeated in all the seats.

Thank you Gentlemen.

You may have wondered about the Air India A310? This plane has indeed found rest in Dresden. Probably it was to be converted into a freighter by the Dresden EADS plant, but found no buyer. So it stayed here and is used for firefighters' training. We already had JAL and China Eastern A300s here being converted into freighters.

About the Rossiya Il-62, I let her fly to EDDS since by the time of some G8 or something summit around 2009 (Air Force One did fly into DRS only weeks later, too). Time to delete her...?

But no more smoking herein.

Fine drinks will be served instead.

When looking at your superb screenies, Harald, it's hard to believe that this is actually FS9   :Applause:

Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds

My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080

Dresden, my home town :D Unfortunately the GAP 1 scenery is somewhat out of date... But a new scenery for Dresden is coming :P

Btw. they want to scrap the A310.. She won't fly again.

a new scenery for Dresden is coming

:o Hi Patrick, where did you get this information? From a certain, some years old thread in the Aerosoft forum? I have given up Aerosoft as source for a renewed Dresden scenery, to be honest...

Or is somebody making a freeware version? Then he/she should combine it with Bautzen und Kamenz sceneries

Thanks for the link. That looks really good. But obviously, there will be no FS9 version. And changing to FSX or P3D is not on my agenda yet.

Thanks for your kind words!

I wish I could fly this plane

Why don't you just try it? If you get familiar with it once, you won't find it that difficult. Of course you miss all the FMCs or whatsoever that are to your disposition in modern planes...

Former Avsim member Tushka has written a good manual for the Tu-134. I have lost the link, so I will make it available via my Dropbox for you. All merits, copyrights etc. belong to Tushka alone.
