I have a dual boot with Win ME on c:). Yea, I know, ME stinks but I have a couple of ancient apps that I need it for.I'm in the middle of restoring from a full format and disabled the silly System Restore but it keeps putting that confounded 500 MB _restore folder on each of my drives.It seems I saw a fix to this a really long time ago here but a search doesn't produce anything.Would someone mind posting how I can eliminate those things once and for all...BobL

Bob,Those applications must really be worth it !!!The only way I know of is to issue the "deltree" command from a boot floppy.At the prompt, type deltree c:_restoreWindows will recreate it on restart but while System Restore is disabled, it should be empty. Good luck,Cheers.

Have you ever tried running the apps on WinXP in the compatibility mode?I assume the 500MB_restore is a WinME thing?http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;264887W. Sieffert
