Start up screen loads off desktop and cannot be moved to desktop

Recommended Posts

Hello Maarten - I have just downloaded your program and I am excited to try it but I am having a frustrating time trying to launch the program. Every time I start the program it starts but the screen loads up off the desktop as if I have a second monitor, but I do NOT have a second monitor! I have a spare monitor I just installed temporarily and moved the SimlauncherX startup screen to my main monitor but no matter what I do the startup screen always loads up in the area of no desktop. Is there a setting I could change?

Thank you for your time and for this program.

Nick

Hi Nick,

The next update makes sure that SLX always starts within the bounds of the (extended) desktop. Until then you can use the Win+Shift+Left arrow or Win+Shift+Right arrow key combination until SLX appears on your main monitor. If that does not help use the reset.bat file in the SLX installation folder.

thanks, Maarten

Thanks Maarten,

also for the hints on the Win-Shift arrows which I didn't know. I have an alternative wide screen für simming only and while on the ordinary (portrait!) screen I have that same issue when starting some other programs I used for simming before, too.

Kind regards, Michael

Thank you for the quick reply and for the Win+Shift hint, that works perfect.

As far as the next up date, when I installed this for the first time I was only using 1 monitor and not two.

Once again Thank you, Nick

Hi Nick,

Just a thought: is your monitor connected to the second port on your video card?

Currently SLX opens in the center of the main monitor on first use. Maybe Windows still uses the coordinates of the first port even if nothing is connected.

thanks, Maarten

Good question but I do not know the answer for sure, I have a Titan and it has 1 Hdmi port and a display port and my guess would be the hdmi is the main port. I will look into this further, thank you again
