SLI -Profile for 353.06 (2x970SC) ?

Recommended Posts

Just installed my two 970´s and cant find a thread regarding SLI configuration for P3D2.5.

I did try Rob´s page but could not find information for P3D2.5

Also i cant find a Sli Profile in NI that mention P3D.?

Maybe Rob also has one for Project Cars now that i do believe he is a racedriver :-) ?

3 Questions

1. Should i connect all my monitors to one card? or spread them between the cards ?

i have

1 x 1920x1200 Hanss G 28"

1 x 1280x1024 (just for PFD,ND)

1 x 1024x768 CDUII via an displayadapter(active)

2. Does SLI also work in Windowed Mode ?

3. Any benefit of using Dynamic Resolution (upscaling) here ? (guess i have to disable the CDUII and the 1280x1024 first)

Thanks for your help

Oh last my activation for P3D has reset because i upgraded so it gives me an error 13 code . I have sent them an email.

Hi Michael,

I have almost the same hardware like you .

  • SLI 2 x 980 GTX
  • Monitor for Prepar3D 42" (1920 * 1080)
  • Monitor for Aivla, vpilot etc 27" (1920 * 1080)
  • Monitor for FMC 10" - CDU II

1. I use profile for NI - http://www.robainscough.com/P3D_SLI_Settings.html

2. All my monitors are connected to one card. I think that is the only possible configuration - I mean SLI active with 3 monitors

3. With all 3 monitors , i dont have DSR option active in Nvidia Control Panel

Best reagards,

Nicu

Thanks. What version of the driver are you using? 353.06 does not show P3D SLI information/combatibel

Thanks Michael

Between Lichdom: Battlemage and Far Cry 4. That setting is what nVidia uses to trigger app-specific behaviors  in its drivers under SLI.

Looks like you forgot to uninstall the previous driver before installing the new. Some drivers cannot be installed over the top of the old.

Did you select the P3D profile and then RESET to default after installing the driver?

If you don't do the "clean install" checkbox when installing a new driver it preserves all profiles and does not update them at all. Rerun the installer and pick clean.

Ok will try that

I always uninstall via DDU in safe mode first

Thanks

Okay after a re-install of the driver (clean install) i now have a P3D profile in SLI

But it seems i have lost 12% in terms of FPS going from GTX780SC to SLI GTX970SC . (Gate A20 EKCH 45fps before now 38)

That sucks :-)

Anything i should try ?

The GPU usage is in Precision X with my older settings is GPU 1 30-34% GPU 2 32-36%

Thanks

Michael

Update:

Disabling SLI i am at 44FPS (almost as goodt as my GTX780SC) and GPU usage at 46-51% so any ideers what i am doing wrong here ?

Project Cars shows an increase of 10% with 1-vs 1 and 25-45% increase in SLI vs 1 GTX780SC

CPU I7-4770K@4,6GHZ at 39.50% usage

Michael,

Try to fly without  Precision X :acute:

Thanks i will give it a go,

But when i undock my PFD and put it on my second monitor the fps is now cut in half. I have Vsync on and i did not have this problem with my old GTX780SC and the card before that either. Normally it would cost me 2 fps undocking.

What am i missing here ?

Thanks

Michael Moe

Update: Hmm just undocking (not moving)and my FPS is really bad (4-5 fps). Thought it was the 59-60HZ thing so i desided to change every monitor to 60HZ but still the problem.

Also tried with no vsync but no luck .

Will try with only one card again.

Could be related to SLI out of SYNC ? ALT-Enter fort and back does not work either

I run windowed mode as i want to undock my CDUII etc.
