RAASPRO Not working in FSX SE

Recommended Posts

RAASPRO not showing in add- on drop down menu . Have installed latest version of make runways and RAASPRO.

Have a side by side installation with FSX-Acceleration and have followed all instructions. the .dll are apparently in the correct places but I get no notification of acceptance of the dll when I start FSX Steam and as such no drop down menu.

Any tips would be gratefully accepted .

Thanks

Brian

Hi Brian,

Do you see the RAAS entry on the DLL.XML?

Hi Brian,

Do you see the RAAS entry on the DLL.XML?

I'm having the same issue with FSX SE! In ver 1.6.5.2 RAAS appeared in the menu audio test was successful, but no voice within sim. With the new version 2.0.2.3 I get no RAAS menu item at all. To verify the dll was being loaded, I set ManualLoad to True, and answered yes on FSX load, still no Menu selection in the Addon Menu. Reinstalled 1.6.5.2 and RAAS menu was back, but still not functioning with the sim.

Tom,

Did you wait a few seconds.  Sometimes it can take up to 20 seconds for RAAS to appear in the Addons menu.

Please look at the RAAS Log file to identify the error.  It's probably "could not connect to flight simulator".

We see this from time to time with Steam FSX users.

We think that when you're installing/uninstalling FSX/Steam something gets corrupted.  We're not sure yet.

Ok, in RAAS PRO long file, there is a connections error with Fsx. " Ignoring simconnect.cfg settings and forcing local connection..." And after : " could ont connect to FLight Simulator".

Correct, we're seeing that with a few users.

But we're trying to figure out why that's happening to you.

Can you please let me know how you installed FSX Steam.

Also try shutting down any anti-virus/firewall programs.  Sometimes they interfere.

Make sure they're excluding the FSX Steam folder.

But did you have MS FSX installed before, and then you uninstalled it after installing Steam FSX?

Something in Steam FSX is getting broken somewhere, and I think it's when FSX is uninstalled.

How did you uninstall FSX?

Did you use the FSX uninstaller or did you just delete the FSX folder manually?

I have the same issue, and never uninstalled FSX-BOX. I'm running a side by side install! (I use the Steam version more and more these days though!!)

MS FSX was uninstalled manually

To clarify, when you say manually do you mean you did not run the FSX uninstaller?

You just manually deleted folders?

Yes I have all SDK's installed. I even tried doing them one by one. The last thing I thought was maybe it was getting confused with the FSX Box SDK SP1. So I uninstalled that so only the Steam Simconects was installed. No luck!!

Hmmmm....  I still think something is getting monkeyed up with all the unintalling/installing going on.

We'll send  you guys a new version of RAAS shortly with a more detailed Log probably so we can identify exactly what's happening.

It's really odd why this happens to some Steam users but not others.

Another user told me he solved it by re-installing Windows.

So there's definitely some kind of file gone bad somewhere.

Can you get let me know the file path for the RAASPro.DLL on your system.

Look in your root Steam FSX folder for the RAAS folder.
