ADF Clearing

Recommended Posts

No, you can't clear the ADF. The display on the NavRad page always shows whatever frequency is currently tuned - which will remain at whatever frequency was last used. If I am not using the ADF, I leave them both set on 500 KHz, which is not used by any NDB. (500 KHz used to be a primary distress and calling frequency for maritime users, but that is no longer the case.)

The real world FMC ADF freq cant be erased either...only overwritten.

You can just leave the last NDB frequency that was used in there.

NDBs are not used for FMC position updating, so when you simply switch the VOR/NDB needle selector to off (or to VOR), the NDB freq wont be used for anything at all.
