A polite request for a new modern Light Twin from any quality Dev.

Just hope that some of the better Developers like Flight 1, A2A, Real Air could give us a new modern light twin that is built to high standards. I have nothing against the older aircraft but it would be nice to have something you might buy new. It just seems that all the modern stuff is being churned out by the companies just for the fast buck. Just all pretty colors and no real quality. It just kills me when these companies put out the Diamond twin which seems to be a popular aircraft in real life. I see usually the first question is about the engine and electronics. The answer is always the same...oh no it doesnt have the new engine ...... ours runs on Collard Greens and Peas but man the sounds are great. This engine was very popular 5 years ago! Buy it now and maybe some day we will issue a patch or something. We can't really do proper electronics or systems because they are too hard and you don't need them anyway. Yada Yada.....You get the idea. Just for once let us shop for a new plane!!

It probably is necessary to either own or at least have regular access to the model of aircraft that a developer want to simulate. That seems to be A2A's formula for its recent run of GA success stories. Else, the programmers are just reading published specs and hoping for the best.

A2A does have a Seminole in the works, which would be a great first twin for them.  If you ever get a multi engine rating, it costs $$$$$, so having an accusimmed twin trainer will help greatly for students.  

 

To do a modern 'Glass' plane like a DA-42 would require an extreme amount of coding and time, much more so than a typical steam gauge airplane.  If you were a developer, why re-invent the wheel when you can combine a nice steam gauge plane with GTN or RXP avionics and be just as capable as the G1000 bird.  F1's G1000 planes are quite good, but they still only cover what, maybe 75%ish of what a real G1000 can do?  

 

So until then, just sit tight until A2A's Seminole, and enjoy the RealAir Duke in the meantime.
