ES Citation X V2 autopilot

Recommended Posts

ES Citation X V2 autopilot

One example:

With autopilot ON.
In FMS NAV mode.

I select HDG mode button ... HDG is bug set to a new heading.

Aircraft does not turn.

The annunciation is HDG (left green arrow) PIT (HDG and PIT are both green) annunciated on PFD.

However, if I select V/S then the aircraft turns.

The PFD annunciation is now HDG (left green arrow)  and ASEL (white)

So, it is not possible to go directly into a commanded HDG mode?

Have a look at the enclosed documentation for Flight Guidance Controller operation with specifics on FMS and Flight Plan Operation. This is not a default type AP and can't be operated in that manner. More on this in our dedicated support forums as we don't do product support here at Avsim. ^_^

Thanks for the reply.

I looked at the controller doc .. it mentioned just push the HDG button ... but I will read it again .. possibly more on another page that I missed.

After purchase I responded tto this e-mail from ES:

Follow up.
I checked the doc.

There was more info on another page:

***
HEADING SELECT MODE

The Heading Select Mode intercepts and maintains a heading.  Engaging this mode
resets all previously selected lateral modes.
***

So, I assume, if you are tracking FMS plan (NAV button / LNAV active) and HDG mode is selected it should cancel NAV mode, activates HDG mode and turn to a new heading.
