Flying Wild Alaska 2

Recommended Posts

This is the continuation of my "Flying Wild Alaska" thread.

This time, I fly from Gustavus (PAGS) to Yakataga (PACY).

A very dark cloud was hiding the sun ...

Nice sky colours ...

Flying right through the clouds is nicer than simply flying above them.

I had to climb to 13,000 ft due to the high mountain.

Barely visible below is the runway of Yakutat, where I landed for my 5th tour.

Just leaving the clouds for the approach to Yakataga - the runway is close to the river mouth.

Gusty winds made the final approach challenging - but that's part of the fun.

Not a big spot ... we're in Alaska and not in New York

End of a tour.

Nice shots. I wish X Plane 10 had more payware quality Alaskan airports.

Great shots. I love flying the 208 up in Alaska.

I wish X Plane 10 had more payware quality Alaskan airports.

Maybe MisterX will do some more eventually.

Superb continuation of your flight. Keep them coming, Uwe

Great shots, Jim Tweto would be proud.

Are you using the new 10.40 with extended DSFs?

Thanks to all ...

The screenies were taken still in 10.35. I have an XP copy for the betas, but I didn't fly yet in 10.40. I only started it once and moved with the free camera to some height. On islands it works well, but in Germany with all the available addons , my 16 GB RAM gets filled up, so I disabled the extended DSF's.

Nice shots. I wish X Plane 10 had more payware quality Alaskan airports.

I will visit Seward in one of my next tours. And there are also airports from the Inside Passage payware.

Love the shots of your tour!

I wish I had the know-how to do some Alaska Bush flying. Sure looks like a blast.
