Cessna float plane crash landing after mid air collision in Fort McMurray Alberta

Featured Replies

2 were killed in the other aircraft from the mid air collision but this pilot managed to make it down and out alive. The collision happened 38 kilometres away from the airport

I heard about it this AM; no other details than the basic info you've shared.  My condolences to those with family / friends lost.

This pilot looked to be very fortunate to not only escape the mid-air crash, but to also have walked away from that landing.  He came to a pretty sudden stop once those float supports hit the runway.

Yes he is very lucky, probably the scariest 20 minutes of his life flying back and getting back on the ground. It is extremely rare to fly out of a mid air collision.

I guess the poster had second thoughts about this video since it has been removed...
