No Joy WIN 7 Speech Recognition.

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Looking into Purchasing NGX rebooted once released, But I have  already run into problems with SR not working at all , so I know my mic is working as i use it for vatsim, also checked i can use windows recorder , which worked.

So i open SP and click on Start SP , First error box says Wizard could not launch ( No audio input device found), OK , (Make sure your audio hardware is working properly etc etc).

OK , Then click Set up Microphone  Error box: Speech Properties (Your current default speech engine does not support this action at this time) OK.

i Then Click  Advance Speech options .  Box says ( The requested task cannot be carried out because the necessary engine could not be created, please select a different Audio device) OK.

Speech Properties then opens.

Language is (US), Default speech profile is ticked, all user settings is un ticked, I click on Audio input at the bottom & sound devices show up , in recording tab i see my mic with green tick all enabled & working, Click OK. then click advance tab in speech properties , i then have Audio input settings for speech, I have  tried (use preferred audio input device & also tried ( use this audio input device ) selecting my mic.

Uninstalled realtek sound driver clean  reinstalled them still nothing.

Anything else I have googled also isn't working.

I'm quite pc literate but this one has really stumped me , The win 7 install is still very fresh too.

Any help fixing or identifying this problem would be very much appreciated .

Cheers

Hi Richie,

Sounds like something is really messed up on your system somewhere.

I'd try Googling it.

Also, Win 10 is coming out next month... that'll give you an excuse to do a fresh clean install.

Maybe that'll clear up the issue.

Have you used system mechanic or a registry fixer. That will play havoc with the speech programs

Unfortunately there is no fix other than reload. There is a fourm topic I think system mechanic blues that talks about this problem.

When i get home i can look it up.

Yes, please don't run those "System Cleaners"... they can cause havoc on systems.  Personally I think they're a bit of a sham.  You don't need them.

I've never used one in my life and my system runs perfectly.

wondering if it's posible too repair or reinstall speech recognition ? Any how. I've read there are other speech recognition softwares out there , would any of them work with the new rebooted version ?

I have tried every thing I could to repair

And nothing worked but a reload worked on this problem for 6 months till I found out problem. Search what I said earlier it has most of your answers.

From my experience a reload of windows is the only answer.

Sorry ted kiser

No, you need Microsoft Speech Recognition, not anything 3rd party.

As mentioned, Win 10 is out next month.  Most of you will get it for free.  It's a great OS.  1000 times better than Win 8.

The beauty in Win 10 for FS2Crew is that it should give all non-anglo sphere users the option to install the English - US language pack (like Win 8 did).

Win 10 gives you an excuse to do a clean install.

Cheers,
