Thanks for the feedback.  I find atmospherics an important element in the VC immersion, these shot exemplifies what I crave.   I see it's now time for me to leave this party....

Just editing this to say I like #2. No over the top massive cumulus and crazy blue skies. A very natural colour and the sprinkling of little fluffy clouds in the distance plus the sunlight on the lake give a total realistic experience.

Exactly!  Well put.  It's the basics that matter most IMO.  Note that #2 and #5 are over the same region at different times of day.  I can't remember where that was, though the Catalina shot was take on approach to Sitka, AK.  It's VC is among my favorite hence its not so subtile inclusion.
