I am new to X-Plane and after 15 years + nursing MSFS along I honestly feel like I have discovered a brand new sim. This past couple years I have invested more money than I care to think about getting FSX to work the way I hoped it would. Just three weeks in with X-Plane and I feel I have reached the holy-grail of flight simulation - for my specific needs at this current time. Sure, I would love a great ATC program, more seasons but all of that will come.

 

The quality of freeware scenery's are as good / if not better than FSX payware. Some designers accept donations, and I encourage everyone to drop them a few bucks. Quality aside, frame-rate hits in X-Plane are far far less than FSX. The whole experience is one of less frustration, and way more confidence in time spent simulating complicated flight!
