July 3, 201510 yr why would you pause instead of using the save option if you say for a few hours? I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
July 3, 201510 yr If I pause for a longish period in FSX-SE I sometimes get a CTD with the cause being FSForce 2 dll file (a 3rd party force feedback driver) which unloads itself if inactive, otherwise I think all other processes are halted and FSX checks a memory offset every few miliseconds to see if the pause flag is still set. July 3, 201510 yr I often leave my flights unattended, trusting that Radar Contact will auto-pause my flight 200 nm from my destination. I have returned to my flights up to about one hour after the pause had been started without any adverse effects. System load quickly reduces to about one third of what an unpaused sim produces, so no problems from that side, either. What happened to AVSIM
July 3, 201510 yr Some times, but not always, I've had problems with displaying scenery on a vanilla FSX. I tend to pause FSX just in case. Gerry Howard

July 3, 201510 yr No issues here. I've paused pmdg t7 flights for the better part of a whole day with no issues when I resume.
