P3D Logbook Editor

Recommended Posts

New just uploaded to AVSIM Library yesterday and is available now (filename logeditv1-0.zip). LogEdit is a logbook editor (P3D only) reads and displays the Logbook.bin file in your LM appData area and allows editing of the data, as well as a tool I created to combine two records into one: Just the time for those trips that get saved and reloaded mid-flight to manage VAS memory.  I composed this application in c# with Visual Studio so the code is "managed," NET 4.0 or later is targeted but I think it should work in the old NET 3.5 framework (feedback on this is appreciated).

Hi Dan,

I have installed the program, but it abends with 'LogEdit has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem...'

I guess this may be due to the .bin file being in use during my flight. I shall wait until I land this evening at KLAX and try again.

Thanks for your work on this. Looks to be a useful addition to our locker.

Cheers, Richard

Oops! Sounds like an unhandled exception that I may need to catch and fix.  P3D only accesses the logbook.bin file when the Pilots Records.. menu item is selected and when it writes a record at either engine shutdown or program exit.  Other than that, it's possible to open, edit and do just about anything you want with logbook.bin during a P3D session.

Richard, please try to reproduce the error and send me an email with your steps take to reproduce. Attach a copy of your Logbook.bin too if you don't mind.  My email is in the About... box and in the readme file.  Many thanks.

Yeah, there was a version 2 released beginning September that includes support for FSX and P3D, as well as exchanging logbook files between platforms, error checking, and more features.

Check the library by searching "logbook" and sort by date; or, search author = dan downs and sort by date.  Also, filename is logeditv2-0.zip.
