Unbelievable rendering in XPX.40b5 (part two) pictorial...

Smokey, I re-read your question, I believe that you are asking me what my system entails.  Just go to my Profile page, and on the left, there, my system sits. You can also google the Dell XPS 730x to see what it looks like, and any reviews. I purchased the highest rated CPU of 2009, that is the i7-975 Extreme to power it. I have not replaced anything other than what came with the system at purchase, an nVidia GTX285 2GB card, and 6 GB's of system Ram.  I upgraded the RAM to a high-speed version, and to the full system capacity of 12 GB's. The system won't go any higher, but this has in no way impeded me from any of the sims, especially with cramming XPX full of all HD and SHD mesh from Andras.  No stutter, no chunk, just spectacular XPX.40b5 performance.  I had great performance with .b3. My system TANKED with b4, and is even better, with .b5 (with .b3 as my performance base).  Having a blast with XPX.40b5, and I have backed up the entire thing...well...just in case...

Thanks for the details, I was afraid you may have been running an Uber system:)

It sounds like I  should be ok with my soon to be built box, 4790k, 970 and 16 GB Ram:)

My laptop will still struggle though:(

No problem, Smokey!  I am just about to take to wing in the Carenado Bonanza as you can see in the post above to Ryan..about his stating, that Carenado's taking more system (FPS loss) juice...not from what I see, as my shots of my soon to take-off Bonanza V.3 at the bottom of page 1 of this thread.

Between the Eclipse, and any of my Carenado sleds, singles, twins, water...not one drop in FPS from using the Eclipse or them.  XPX40b5 is the cup-to-the-lips...!

Cheers!

Try the Carenado 1900 or PC12, that'll slow you down by a fair margin!

The 337 is their sweet spot, good flight model and systems and great performance:)

LOL...I have all of them but those two.  I'm sort of Carenado Tapped Out..lol.   If I do pick either of them up...I'll post the FPS results, with the same (I am never going to change the rendering screen. It's a keeper..the sim looks fantastic, all around the world!)  sim settings, but don't jump off any high bridge, if I come back and raise your eyebrows, with FPS readings the same as what I show here, for the Bonanza. My system is pretty resolute, even with P3D v2.4 and FSX:MS SP2  It's a bull-dog!

Well, this concludes my taking shots to show the power and beauty of a full-blown, XPX.40b5!   I don't want to fill up all of AVSIM's back up storage space, lol.  I could do that so easily...as XPX is ethereal...spiritual, beautiful..., and never more so, with the ability to now see it as Laminar envisioned. Thanks, Ben.  Now..off to explore more of Alaska...beautiful...man...just....beautiful...

Custom PAJN, please share detail....

Liking this improvement and agree the X-Plane ecosystem seems to have leaped ahead in terms of visuals, like AeroFly but with complexity!

Great shots!

I have to admit that I have not been doing much flying recently and only had a small look at the last couple of changes.

I just did a few small flights and I also thought things were looking better, I could go HDR with max AA etc and things looked good.   On my 42" screen I needed to go hdr with max AA to get a good image but I then suffered bad fps.   This is a nice improvement.

Only issue was the mountains in the background being mushy..  Then I saw a setting for extended DSF scenery and it reminded me of something I read, I ticked it and then everything was perfect.   It really is a nice looking sim right now.
