[19JUL15] The View from the Top.

Recommended Posts

Very, very nice! I only have one Question Robert: Is the 747-8 a standalone addon or is this aircraft an expansion package for the 747-400 V2?

Same question here along with freighter status. I am sure these questions will be clarified before release date.

Just one simple question:   Will the 748 be treated as an add-on to the 744, or will it be an entirely separate product, not requiring  a purchase of the 744?

Gents,

The Freighters were announced to be included at the end of last year:

http://forum.avsim.net/topic/458930-31dec14-a-little-something-for-the-new-year/page-2?p=3146399#entry3146399

Thanks for the reminder.  Hopefully the 8 will be an expansion rather than a new product.

Will the view shift when turning in the 777 be present in the 747-400 and 748i?

As this is a function of FSX, specifically, yes. If ACES were still around, we might've been able to get them to fix that algorithm. As it stands now, though, we cannot. Perhaps Dovetail and/or LM can work on this. It's out of our hands, though.

Alrighty, hopefully soon.

That is so cool! I never thought that would include having GE90-110b engines!!!

(See first image to get my hilarious joke)

Jesse-

We charge extra for those.  LOTS extra.  ;-)

Seriously though- the sim was running for a while with the 777 engine model- and the 744 performs really well with 440,000lbs of thrust under wing.  The climb rates were obscene.

Damn, those pictures look amazing. Shut up and take my money, please :D

Found 2 small things, compared them to numerous real world pictures and found they are a bit off:

The "RST", "STD", "CTR", and "TFC" Buttons on the MCP look a bit more protruded in real life than on these screenshots - maybe it's only the angle though.

Second thing are the Autopilot buttons on the 747-8 MCP - they look the same as in the 747-400 - in real life they look like the 777 Autopilot buttons which are perfectly modeled in the PMDG 777. Maybe this in an Option in real life for airlines - if that's the case just ignore me.

Otherwise - beautiful work - can't wait.

Thanks PMDG.

Ole-

Noooooooo!  Posts like yours are one of the reason I dread doing previews of in-development work.  We appreciate the sharp eyes- but I tried to make it really clear in this post that both products are in development, and sharp eyes will find areas that aren't yet finished...

So... shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......   Work with me.  Work with me!  I know it is hard to tell given our previous track record- but we DO know what we are doing.  B)

(Really!  We do! ahahahha)

This looks absolutely gorgeous.

Do you anticipate the P3D version being available at the same time as the FSX one, or will they be staggered?

Max-

A BIT too early to tell right now.  We haven't bothered porting either airplane into FSX-SE or P3D (or Xplane... <giggle>) yet.

During beta testing we will drop both into FSX-SE, which should be essentially seamless.  Once we have those two platforms running we will do a code drop into P3D as well and keep our fingers crossed.

The 777 and the NGX needed some massaging when moving them to P3D- and I am pretty certain the 747s will as well...  Provided nothing major changes in P3D between now and release- it won't be a long transition.
