July 26, 200520 yr Wow, who bent JWENTING out of shape? Nothing wrong with the post. I've followed this forum for years and many folks make suggestions here for things they'd like to see in the next version. Perfectly legit use... I don't think is reaction should reflect on Flight 1, I have several of their products and generally find them very supportive. Just a rogue "certified professional" I suspect. Here's another one to send JWENTING into another rant:I'd like to see a marshaller added to the next version. Nothing fancy, just a figure at the end of the route defined by the progressive taxi, but use of the progressive taxi would not be required. I use airport diagram charts to follow taxiway assignments but these don't show gates and I have turn on progressive taxi at the very end to determine which parking slot agress with the one I have been assigned. I'd appreciate a waving marshaller standing there! Some isolated addon airports include this but I would like a generic one. Just a thought inspired by JWENTING's reaction.
July 26, 200520 yr To those that reacted negatively to my original post:Get off your computer once in while, geez!I was under the impression that I had just as much right to make a post as any other registered user. Apparently, your make believe certification entitles you to more power.I would like cloud shadows in MSFS. This is an MSFS forum. If you don't like the post, don't read it. Or, since this is a free forum, go ahead and post a negative comment on every post you don't approve of. Of course if you do that, your friends will be make believe also.
July 26, 200520 yr I want birdstrikes. But I'm not going to scream that they're an absolute requirement...
July 26, 200520 yr I don't question his right to want something, merely the way he words his request as something that is an absolute requirement made by everyone (I know for a fact he didn't ask me...).
July 26, 200520 yr I thought that shadows were a frame-rate killer? Could it not be that these were used in Falcon because there is less demand on the processor than we are all-to-familiar with in FS9 (not even including add-on sceneries etc).Just a thoughtDan

Apparently, your>make believe certification entitles you to more power.I don't think what was in your post that was the problem. More how you said it.While it would be cool to see, I could honestly care less one way or another. If they put it in, sweet, I'll be happy, if they don't, I won't even notice they aren't there.
July 28, 200520 yr "I thought that shadows were a frame-rate killer? Could it not be that these were used in Falcon because there is less demand on the processor than we are all-to-familiar with in FS9 (not even including add-on sceneries etc)."Apparently not. Fly around FS2002's or FS9's world at dusk, and the terrain casts shadows--it's one of the best and most beautiful things about either version of MSFS in my opinion. I suspect cloud shadows can (and will) be added with minimal impact in MSFS performance as long as the shadows don't follow every contour of the cloud on the ground.-John
July 28, 200520 yr What we don't need is more eye candy. What is needed in the next version is some improvements to the AI traffic, ATC, the EFFECTs of weather on an airplane not just its graphical rendering etc, etc, etc. What will probably happen is that cloud shadows will show up, but kill frame rates with a lot of clouds around. Look at what several layers of broken clouds do to the rates. It would look good in screenshots which is why we will probably see them.
