HELP-Elevator Trim Problem

Recommended Posts

Have recently reinstalled FSX:SE, but seem to have a problem with all planes where the Elevator Trim is trimming down all the time, it doesn't stop until it reaches max down trim. Trying to reset it back to normal takeoff condition and it just starts dropping down again.  Have never seen this before in all my years using FSX !  Has anyone else experienced this or can point me to what the problem may be?

I have my Joystick controls disabled in FSX Control Settings and reset and calibrated using FSUIPC, but no matter what I seem to do, the Trim/Trim Wheel constantly moves down until it reaches the limit then stops. Trying to move back has no effect as it just moves back to max down trim on its own.

This happens in all planes from default cessna to the majestic Q400.  I am at my wits end as to what could cause this.

I don't think the auto pilot is on as the cockpits are 'cold & dark'.

Ted, which config file are you referring to, FSX.cfg? Was not aware of such an entry.

Thanks Guys,

Went and investigated again, and although AutoTrim was already set to false, I then noticed that the Autopilot was in fact set to on. After turning it off all is fine again.

You were right Jim.

Yeah!

Thanks again,

Stuart
