August 16, 201510 yr I get an Inaccessible Voot Device Error. Have tried to search for the TODO file but can't find it. Hidden files are shown. What can I try??? Sebastian Stein
August 18, 201510 yr Commercial Member Not everyone has the TODO file, perhaps your problem is something different, try unplug USB hubs and anything not required for the PC to work. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
September 3, 201510 yr Just like Slayer I was surfing Microsoft looking for how to fix this error and was pointed back to AVSIM to this thread. I've had 5 failed attempts to install Windows 10. I removed the TODO file and bingo - now have Windows 10 on my PC. Huge thank you DylanM . I never would have found this without you! Rich Cooke
September 24, 201510 yr Hello ! I deleted the todo files but I've still the same error. October 29, 201510 yr Thank you! thank you! After many frustrating tries to update, removing the Orbx "todo" did the trick.
November 7, 201510 yr The gift that keeps on giving! Many thanks for the tip on the "TODO" folder! That was the final key to enabling me to successfully upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. fred ziker Fred Ziker Ryzen 7 9800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon MB, 64gb DDR 6000 ram, Corsair H100i Liquid CPU cooler, Asus Prime RTX 5080
November 14, 201510 yr I would also like to add my thanks. Although I did not have the exact same problem it pointed me to the solution. My solution was to search the following folder."C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" for the "TODO" folder. You will need to unhide "C:\ProgramData" to search down this path. Regards Trevor
November 30, 201510 yr Great fix DylanM. I only wasted yesterday and a couple of hours this morning trying to upgrade to Win 10, before I found your solution. This fix did for me !!
December 5, 201510 yr I had the same error, deleted the Orbx file and deleted everything in the Windows/Software Distribution folder and now i'm on windows 10. Looks promising. MSI Codex 5 10SC-262UK Desktop PC - Intel Core i7-10700, RTX 2060 Graphics, 16GB RAM, 2TB HDD, 256GB SSD.
December 18, 201510 yr I'am beginning to regret ever buying Orbx products. What with trees and houses on the mountains of England and now this. Microsoft Win 10 updates leave alot to be desired as well. Now that I have got my computer back all I have TO-DO is sort my network out as I have lost all my connections GRRRR.
January 13, 201610 yr Is this file un-needed by the orbx programs? Deleting it causes no issue? Considering it's just an empty file (0kB) it should not make any difference, and just to let you know i ran my P3D after installing windows 10 and deleting the "TODO" file and it worked just fine!
March 24, 201610 yr Just wanted to give a shout-out to DylanM for posting this! After four failed install attempts (at around four hours each!!), I was starting to get more than a little frustrated!! You might not have saved my life, but I think you saved my sanity!! Win10 Home 64-bit | i7-6700k (OC-4.7GHz) | MSI 3090 VENTUS 3X OC | ASUS Z170-A | 32GB G.Skill DDR4 3000 | 5 Samsung EVO 850 SSDs | Corsair 1000W PSU | MSFS2020 (plus P3D V5.x not yet deleted) | HP Reverb G2 | Honeycomb Alpha yoke & Bravo throttle | MFG Crosswind pedals | Cooler Master HAF 912 case |
May 10, 201610 yr Thanks very much Dylan - I spent hours thrashing around trying to get Windows 10 to 'stick' on my new SSD. I've become very familiar with my BIOS now but this tip has certainly saved me much more wasted time best regards Rick Canham Sweden
