I get an Inaccessible Voot Device Error. Have tried to search for the TODO file but can't find it. Hidden files are shown. What can I try???

Not everyone has the TODO file, perhaps your problem is something different, try unplug USB hubs and anything not required for the PC to work.

Just like Slayer I was surfing Microsoft looking for how to fix this error  and was pointed back to AVSIM to this thread.  I've had 5 failed attempts to install Windows 10.  I removed the TODO file and bingo - now have Windows 10 on my PC.  Huge thank you DylanM .  I never would have found this without you!

I deleted the todo files but I've still the same error. Just, this appears now  later,  not during installing pilots but during adapting parameters (last phase)

Many thanks for the tip on the "TODO" folder! That was the final key to enabling me to successfully upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10.

I would also like to add my thanks. Although I did not have the exact same problem it pointed me to the solution.

 

My solution was to search the following folder.

"C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs"

 

for the "TODO" folder.

 

You will need to unhide "C:\ProgramData" to search down this path.

I had the same error, deleted the Orbx file and deleted everything in the Windows/Software Distribution folder and now i'm on windows 10. Looks promising.

I'am beginning to regret ever buying Orbx products.

What with trees and houses on the mountains of England and now this.

Microsoft  Win 10 updates leave alot to be desired as well.

Now that I have got my computer back all I have TO-DO is sort my network out as I have lost all my connections GRRRR.

Is this file un-needed by the orbx programs? Deleting it causes no issue?

Considering it's just an empty file (0kB) it should not make any difference, and just to let you know i ran my P3D after installing windows 10 and deleting the "TODO" file and it worked just fine!

Just wanted to give a shout-out to DylanM for posting this!  After four failed install attempts (at around four hours each!!), I was starting to get more than a little frustrated!!  You might not have saved my life, but I think you saved my sanity!!   :wink:

Thanks very much Dylan - I spent hours thrashing around trying to get Windows 10 to 'stick' on my new SSD. I've become very familiar with my BIOS now but this tip has certainly saved me much more wasted time
