No harm, in fact this thread provided a little entertainment.  RSR will announce the beta phase about when that gets started and after a PMDG-short-time he lets us start putting pictures out. Don't expect a normal time frame for beta testing... there is none.

A better question would be DC-6 or 747 first.

I distinctly remember RSR saying 2015 will be the year of the 747 at PMDG. Perhaps he was spot on: at pmdg only, nothing ready for us yet. Maybe 2016 then :)

I'm sure she'll be great once out and I'm looking forward to fly the queen of the skies :)

I know where PMDG can look if they need another beta tester. Ive only lived and breathed aviation for as long as I can remember. Professionally though, 21 years now working in aviation. Licensed A&P, Professional Line Service Tech, and frequently called the worlds largest source of useless information. Aviation and otherwise. :)

WHAT...is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?

This will have to be investigated. Could you provide more information? Is it an African or European Swallow? I cannot provide an accurate response as the different varieties of Swallows can have widely varying performance numbers. :D

Simple, the unladened velocity is 1.35 times ladened velocity. The swallow has just seen a hawk, dumped the load, and is heading for cover.

Well the equation to work it out looks simple once you have the ZFW (Zero Food Weight)

Not so simple....you all are forgetting that both swallow types had the carbon fiber feather upgrade option, which everyone here knows that any carbon fiber addition to the airframe or especially the wings bring a whole new set of equations to the mix.

So in your example Dan, if its a standard swallow, he's entering the dive knowing that he could only manage a 6g pull out or risk severe structural damage or even wing failure, whereas a carbon fiber upgraded swallow is certified to 9g's sustained.

It really amazes me how some here think a swallow is just a swallow. :LMAO:

I am hoping the DC-6 will be released within the next few months - extremely excited about the DC-6, especially since its PMDG's FIRST release for X-Plane. Just hoping the 747 V2 will be released for X-Plane soon after the release for P3D & FSX.
