Boeing or not going

Fuel pump sounds too loud

Recommended Posts

When you wear head phones and have everything full blast in your sound settings, it's all bound to sound loud.

The only real proof is measuringing the decibels in a real cockpit, then creating that match with your sound card. It's down to setting the right levels in FSX or P3d. And in the PMDG menu options.

Listerning to this, full blast it sounds like the packs are drowning everything out including the fuel pumps sounds. Looks like the packs are auto. The fuel pumps look like they are on, but not the centre pumps.

YouTube (and most any video capture device short of high quality, dedicated, sound recording devices) will filter out any high or low spectrum noises. The fuel pumps being a high pitched whine will definitely get clipped a massive amount here. Even if our sound is louder than it should be, YouTube isn't going to be a good idea of what it's supposed to sound like.

For anyone curious about this concept, upload a picture to Facebook when you have time and compare it to the original image. Pay particular attention to the color. Same thing happens when you upload videos to sharing sites.

Yeah impossible to replicate everything down to the decibel.

Personally, I would like less high power turbine pitch up front during cruise, and maybe less equipment cooling sound. This sound even sounds different on a recording than the real cockpit.

To me the airplane is beautiful as is and a job well done.

I was going to say, every reording on youtube is going to sound different, so take a recording with a pitch of salt. With different compressions. Even the sound files that pmdg use, are sadly only recordings.
