Linda connection to FSX fails?

Recommended Posts

Linda 2.6.8 (147)

Linda 2.6.3

FSX

PMDG NGX 737

Trying to connect Linda to FSX and get the following error.

------ Setting the hooks and direct calls into the simulator ------

--- CONTROLS timer memory location obtained ok

--- SIM1 Frictions access gained

ASN active function link set

--- FS Controls Table located ok

[E] VRI port 1 "com3" failed to open

--- Installed Mouse Macro hooks ok.

Wind smoothing may be by ASN, not FSUIPC, if it is running

Will switch smoothing action when ASN starts/stops

--- G3D.DLL fix attempt installed ok

--- All links checked okay

I have reinstalled the Vinsight drivers and updated to the latest FSUIPC (registered)

Any help much appreciated.

Hi Chann

You don't say what VRI panel you are using. The error indicates that the VRI panel is not connected to your system. Check your USB devices.  Use the VRSim to check that you have a connection but VRSim must not be running when using LINDA.

Thank you Scott

The great news is that I found the solution was that VRinsight had decided to change my com port from 3 to 4 without me knowing.  Having done a windows update this week (I do them seldom) I was chasing that route..

Now I am having to roll back Linda to 1.13 as I had that running with the VRinsight MCP Combo Version 1 with the PMDG NGX and am getting another error...

[E] *** LUA Error: F:\FSX\modules\linda-cfg/system/config-hid.lua:21: attempt to index global 'JSTK3' (a nil value)

That file is non existent at the moment!  I am on the case....

But we are connected!

You need to rollback to the old config-hid.lua or simply delete the current file to clear the error. It will rebuild itself.
