FSX activation issue.

Recommended Posts

For some unbeknown reason since updating my PC to Windows 10 from Windows 7 Ultimate everytime I run FSX it asks me to activate it, which I do. However half an hour later FSX comes to a halt and again asks me to activate it. This happens everytime I run the program. Does anyone know what might be causing the issue and how I might fix it.

I also have my original Windows 7 and all of my programs backed up on a second hard drive and wonder if this might be behind the problem, eg some kind of conflict.

I haven't heard of anyone having this issue (yet). You should not have to reactivate FSX when upgrading to Windows 10. I would try the solutions offered at the following link - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/960481. FSX is an old program and this fix should also work for Windows 10.

Sussed this out, it is simply a matter of running FSX as an administrator. However I have found I need to replace a number of my aircraft as some of the textures have corrupted BMPs which must have happened as a result of upgrading to Windows 10.

Upgrading to Win 10 did not touch a single thing in your FSX folders. They may have been corrupted before the update.

Had the same issue as Nickcv. After I installed Win10 a dialog box would pop up asking me to Activate the Acceleration Pack. I did this a couple of tmies but it didn't do any good. I started FSX as administrator and it orks fine. I uninstalled hen reloaded FSX and still had same problem. Think it may have been a registry fault. Any way, starting FSX as administrator does the trick so thanks again Nickcv.
