SSD Format or Secure Erase?

Recommended Posts

So preparing my PC to update to Win 10 and finally move to FSX SE.  I have my OS on a 128GB SSD and my FSX on a 256GB SSD and all my AI and backup files on a 1TB HDD.

My thought was to take the entire FSX folder on the 256 SSD and copy/paste it over to the HDD as a backup until I get FSX SE up and running on the 256.

So to clean off the 256 SSD do I need to reformat or do a secure erase?  Both I have read are methods for restoring your SSD.

I was also thinking of doing it after I successfully upgrade to Win10 on the 128GB to do a clean install of the OS.
