Ground speed on the PFD show or not to show?

Recommended Posts

Been seeing alot of Youtube 737NG videos and nearly everone isn't showing the G/S. So is this pretty common and why?

You should have it. You need it. Internal airline regulations limit high speed taxi to 20 or 25 kts on long and clear of traffic taxiways.. Around 90 degree turns you should be about 10 kts. High speed turnoffs are a different story.

The ground speed is permanently displayed on top of the ND. Displaying it also on the PFD would be redundant to my opinion.

Vernon

Why show the same information on the PFD and ND which are maybe an inch apart. Like Romain  said it's redundant.

Like so many things in the cockpit (redundant) I like to have mine in the PFD too. Personal preference I guess.
