Hello all,

I have done some research but no real answer as yet so here I am.

I have recently purchased some Saitek gear.

Yoke

Pedals

Switch Panel

Radio Panel &

Multi Panel

All is good except for the Multi Panel which I can not get to work.

Most of the time, windows says it does not recognise the USB device. I can use the test program and it seems to work but in game, sometimes the pitch wheel and flaps will work only and other times not.

Randomly when I replug it in it seems to be all ok but that does not last long.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Are you using SPAD?

I never had any problems with my panels, but I never used the Saitek drivers. Saitek drivers for the panels can give a lot of problems.

For basic aircraft I'm using SPAD and for more complex aircraft, I use LINDA.

Cheers!

Maarten

Try plugging it in directly to the computer. For some reason it doesn't work that well through a USB hub.

Thanks,

Hi

Allways use a powered hub for your saitek gear. ALso forget the saitek drivers and has been suggested use SPAD. I also use Linda for the saitek controls "www.fs-linda.com".

I will try a powered hub and see...I installed SPAD but it did not recognise the Multi Panel so I think that it might be faulty.

I did notice when I opened the box that it was already assembled so maybe it was the shop display or demo. If no joy I will do as return.

Also 3 of the led segments in my radio panel are also dim. They are the same 3 in each number...

*sigh*

Cheers...

OK, with the powered hub, either using default or SOAD checking program, when I push/move a button on the multi panel I see it move on screen .

However I see nothing on the panel led display that I see in the software display...

I think I still have some troubles as when in the FS, I still get no display. When I hit the AP button I do get the warning tone tho...

I might start a product return today and get a new one,

Appreciate your help guys.

Cheers...

Sounds like you need to make sure you have no usb power saving settings on in windows

You need to make a registry change:

Saitec Panels Fix

There's also information there about the exe.manifest, and the exe.xml setup.

Well, it seems that when I arc up FSX the unplug and plug in the multi panel, it decides to work. This is in a computer USB and not the USB hub that I have plugged in.

So it seems a power issue but no idea how to check any USB power settings,,,ideas?

Thanks heaps.

That's the fault, do the registry fix I described to cure the problem.

Is SPAD.next released???

I'm on the mailing list for test versions and to be kept up to date with development and I had just one email with a first draft and after that I heard nothing. I've been waiting for a proper test version for months...

Cheers!

Not being a guru at this..

I think I have found up to:

Where it says :Finally set "EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled" to 0

I have no idea where that is :(

Would getting another powered USB Hub help?

I've got 8 controllers divided over 2 powered hubs and I dont have any problems whatsoever.

Just some simple hubs from like 15 euros a piece, works fine for me.

Cheers!
