PMDG TUTORIAL 2 27FEB15 SP1d typos

Recommended Posts

Had some trouble with this tutorial awhile back and decided to give a new go.

I have flown this plane with my own flight plans using the fmc without issues.

The only ones I have are with the tutorials pdf.

I know that the tutorial was created using an earlier AIRAC nav data so I purposely did a complete re-install after a complete deletion opf the aircraft to make sure there wasn't any doubt of file corruption.

Amongst the issues (More than the ones I'm listing) the first error noticed was the Manual listing the Lowi Arrival  Runway to be LLZ26 My aircraft FMC show a LOC26

The second is a separate entry in the legs for RTTNB wit Hold next to it whic compare dto the manual, which had only the one.

I have confirmed that my AIRNAC is the same one used in the manual (AIRNAC -1108 JUL28AUG24/11)

The tutorial PDF is the 27FEB15 SP1d rel version.

I have attached a doc with 3 screen shots of my FMC in the three related issues

and next to each one, the related image in the manual.

My Screen shot 1: http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/image/cF4

Tut 2 Image 1: http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/image/cFj

My Screen shot 2: http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/image/cFx

Tut 2 Image 2: http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/image/cF5

My Screen shot 3: http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/image/cFc

Tut 2 image 3: http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/image/cFe

I would like to solve this and then I am more than glad to bring up some other typos...

Thank you

There's a note at the beginning of the tutorial noting that navdata changes, and some user logic must be used to reconcile these differences. The NGX was released several years ago, and the nav data has changed since then. While you are using the same effective dates of AIRAC data, there may have been an issue when we re-packed the NGX for SP1D, as the ICAO naming convention has changed for approaches between the original release and the re-release.

Part of the tutorial is showing you how to use the various tools in the plane. Part of being a pilot is knowing when to use these tools and tricks. Similarly, part of being a pilot is assessing the situation and reconciling an earlier concept with the current situation.
