I am also curious about this aircraft,,,is it as good or close to as good as the PMDG 777?

No its not PMDG level.

the closest one by flight factor to PMDG level is the 757 , it's awesome and really in-depth simulation systems wise and has some really nice features , visually it needs some improved VC textures.

Flight factor in general makes a step-up in each product , I believe the up-coming 767 will be the step-up that will bring them really really close for PMDG quality in each term (they are planning to improve some of the weakest points IMO compared to PMDG , such as a totaly new sound system , missing things like terrain radar , and they are building an improved VC)

Question is, is this VMAX 777 worth it at hallf price?

In my opinion - yes!  I don't see the version number on their site, but the 1.7.1, the older version, can have Pumper's (free) cockpit installed and it is the real deal.  V1.8 cannot use it but Pumper is working on it now.

It is one of those planes that works great for some things, and not for others. A glance over at the FF777 forum at the org reveals a mixed bag, which is also my personal experience. Aesthetically there has been a recent welcome refresh to the vc with v1.8 but the exterior badly needs a facelift and the wildly exagerrated wingflex is a standing joke with the community. Systems-wise Philipp's fms is one of the best in X-Plane, but elsewhere a few silly bugs persist, including a broken autoland (rolls to left just before touch down). However if you can get over its imperfections the 777 could be considered worthy at reduced price.

P.S. I still wonder why on Flight Factor aircraft passenger stairs roll up to the right-hand of the aircraft, which would probably seriously hinder baggage and catering staff at most airports!

That, and there's a pretty good jump from the plane to the stairs!

Personally, I don't spend a lot of time looking at the exterior except occasionally while at altitude, mainly just to get a look at the scenery that X-Plane provides.  It just seems to me that if you are flying an aircraft, with the exception of maybe a space vehicle (where you can go for a space walk), it is just not realistic to open the door and go out to see what your aircraft looks like.  I think that's where MS Flight went wrong, providing aircraft with no cockpit view - tried to make a game out of it - which it was from the get go, but that ruined it for me.

Large learning curve for the FMS, but after learning/using it, all the others just seem like a toy.

I just picked this up at the half price deal. It isn't at the PMDG level,

still very good addition to my ever growing X-Plane hanger

That's true, but what really is in any platform?

Do all the buttons and switches work?

They seem to, but I really didn't feel any warmer when I turned on the pilot heat.
