Letters/Numbers under registration in VC

Hi all,

 

I recently have started to do repaints myself, when painting the registration in VC, I am wondering what are the numbers/numbers under the registration represent? and how can I find the info?

 

For example, what does GJ-ES stand for here?

GJ-ES is the selcal code (Selective call).
