Adjusting MU-2 Landing and Taxi Lights Brightness

Recommended Posts

Overall I have been enjoying this aircraft. However, one problem area for me is the brightness or intensity of both the landing and taxi lights at night. I have tried both landing and taxi lights on--the intensity of the brightness seems to washout the surface of both runway and the taxi way--I have tried just the landing lights only--still seem too bright--tried just the taxi lights only--still too bright, at least for me.

My question is this--is there any "easy" way for me to tone down the intensity or brightness of these lights? Easy because I don't know how to modify model files, just the a\c cfg. file. I do not have the "tool" to modify the model file, if that's where the light brightness parameters is located.

I have looked through this forum for any previous topic referring to this subject but could not find one. Sorry if this has already been discussed.

Thanks,

I do not have the MU-2, but landing and taxi lights often use the "spotlight" texture found in the "Textures" folder of FSX.  If the MU-2 uses this texture, then a replacement texture might help.

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

Thanks for your helpful response. I forgot all about the "spotlight.bmp" as you noted. I changed it out and have a more desirable (for me anyway) landing & taxi lights for the MU-2

For anyone else that may view this post and have the same desire as I,you may want to check out Dirk Kurze's "Xenon Lights 3.0" for FSX. His replacement lights can be found on Flightsim.com and possibly in Avsim's download library as well.
