Control Panel/FMC weight difference

Hi!

 

Love this plane! Even sprung for the Fs2Crew for it (which is a challenge in of itself!).

 

However, I notice that I could set a setting of passengers and cargo in the control panel, and have the ZFW come out to, say, 53000 lbs.

 

 

However, when I enter the same settings in the FMC (# of passengers, cargo weights, etc), it comes out as a different ZFW- say, 51000 lbs.

 

 

What am I doing wrong? I know I am entering in the data correctly, or at least I THINK I am! help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It would depend on the assumed passenger weight used by the FMC and Cpan. I would suggest inputting the Cpan ZFW in to the FMS instead, as that will avoid these types of error.

 

Make sure you're not putting number of bags and cargo weight in the Cpan, as it adds them together to get a total!

The dry operating mass (DOM) of the Q400 in the CPAN has to be populated to get the correct ZFW in the FMC. Take a look at the dry weight in the FSX fuel and payload section. (DOM should be 37438)

Easiest thing is to directly input the ZFW in the entry section on the FUEL page in the FMS. Adding your alternate and reserve fuel, along with fuel on board will populate the gross weight automatically. That's what we did in the Q400 Cadet course.
