Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have installed fsx on my new laptop along with fspassengers and the pmdg 737 ngx and fsx keeps crashing.

Info

Windows 8 Home 64bit

8gb Ram

Intel i5 Proccessor

FSX Acceleration

-----------------------------

I had a look at event viewer and I have confirmed the g2d.dll is popping up every time I have this crash :(.

Every other computer I have runs Windows 8 and runs perfectly! One thing to mention, my laptop does not a cd drive so

I did install it from a HDD. Please help me I feel like I have wasted £64 on a pmdg 737

See the AVSIM CTD Guide -

G2D.dll - The g2d.dll is indicated as the faulting module in the crash report. This module handles plain text messages, like the frame rate counter and those other plain text messages you see periodically while running FSX and the plain text words in the FSX Menu, like the words Options, View, etc.  There may be something corrupted in your dll.xml which loads menu items. It has been fixed by rebuilding the FSX.cfg (deleting or renaming the FSX.cfg and then restarting FSX).  Some others have fixed this problem by uninstalling/reinstalling the video card drivers or going back to a previous version.

It seems like fspassengers was at fault as soon as I stopped doing fspassenger flights it stopped :).

So disable the entry in the dll.xml for fspassengers and that should do it until fspassengers can find a fix.  That way fspassengers will not load and it will be inoperable.  Is this the latest version of FS Passengers or the really old one?

The old one, and to be honest I dont really care about it. Another thing... fspassengers was the culprit of a few of those crashes, fsx doesn't crash as often maybe once every 4 flights. I reply back when I get another crash :)

The old one was buggy and I understand lacked support from the developer.  Hopefully the new one works better on everyone's system.

Thanks, stopping fspassengers from running has stopped the crashes, I also hope this will help other people to.

I will add the probable fix to the g2d.dll in the AVSIM CTD Guide the next time it is updated.  There are many crashes in this forum when FSP was installed.  I'm hoping the updated version has fixed the problems.
