Mute my voice to the FO

Recommended Posts

Dog-gone it, I just read about this two days ago and can't find that post.

My FO MCE is responding to me talking to ATC. I need to "mute myself" to the FO until I need him. How can this be done? Sorry, I know the answer's out there but can't find it.

Tkx a bunch!!

Hi Stuart,

>>Assign the <END> key as PTT...MCE will suspend all speech reco until you release the key<<

That's exactly what I'm looking for. Can I PM you with some thoughts and questions?

Stuart,

I'm not using specific key(s) for mic input, rather (per PilotEdge instructions) I use:

PTT Transmit On (SB3.RW.AVC) and PTT Transmit Off (SB3.RW.AVC). Both "Parameter" boxes are 0 (zero).

I tested this tonight with MCE calling for a checklist with the trigger pulled and held... MCE heard me.

Any idea?

Tkx!!

Doug

I have the same problem, sometimes the PTT state is not detected and MCE heard me.

This problem happend to me only when airborn.

I am in contact with MCE team for repair this, i am sure they will, soon.

Set NotifyPTTstate=1 (mce.in [VATSIM] section) and check if your PTT buton is detected by MCE when presed

Hi Robert,

I tried =1 and =2 (Hail Mary). MCE heard me both times.

But a message appears on the screen in red ? it must show the buton state.

Set NotifyPTTstate=1 will no solve the problem, but it will help you to identify.

Is MCE detecting when you push the PTT?

>>...on the screen...<<

Do you mean atop FSX where their normal scrolling takes place? No, I saw no msg there, on the MCE UI or anywhere else so It's apparently not detecting the PTT. Cool trick though, if it'd toggle the MCE mic icon. That'd take care of that .

Looking forward to this working...

This mean that MCE do not detect when PTT is pressed.

Do you have UseWithVoxATC=0 in mce.ini?

I am not sure if our problem with PTT are the same.

I have UseVOXScripts=1 too. Other way MCE will not detect PTT status.

Did you try to assign a joystick key instead of DEL or another keyboard key?

Then assing with FSUIPC that joystick button with the funcion you want.

If this do not work , i think you need to contact with MCE support for solve the problem.

Tkx Robert. I'll check with PilotEdge to see if a specific key will work with them. If so I'll try DEL or another. I described what I'm currently doing with FSUIPC earlier in the thread. I'll talk to Ben if necessary, hate to bother him.

Tkx again!

Doug
