How do you like this plane? Does it have a weather radar or rain effects? It is on sale now so I am looking for info to help decide,

thanks,

Yes to both.

It does not have an updatable FMS.  However I use the XFMC freeware fms which will accept navigraph.  Of course you have to pay for navigraph services.  The XMFC software is 2d only in a popup form, but the routing integrates just fine into the Challenger.

For the price it's a great product.  Systems wise it's pretty detailed.  Autopilot functions work ( a few don't but they are not really needed), FLC works great unlike other FSX addons (that I own lol).  Hand flying is a bit funky... could be my controls too.  It's very "jitter.".  Myself and my professional pilot friend tried landing it in some large xwinds and it wouldn't respond well.  Basically I lost aileron authority with a strong enough direct crosswind (around 20 kts).  It was also very sloppy around anything less than 130 KIAS.  My pilot friend is a captain for a popular US airline...has time on Bombardier based jets.

Overall I'd say buy it at the current sale price point.  But I am more excited to see DDENN's GL6T Global Jet, which should have FMS that is updatable.

That's a cool looking jet...great shots!  I saw the words "FL450" before the picture had loaded and thought I was going to see a U-2

These ARE great shots but with one little nitpicky criticism...the clouds.  For some reason the texture of the clouds look "cloth-like".  Are they created through XP10 or an add-on package?

Lol ya, the clouds are default

People keep recommending a freeware cloud replacement option - I just never get around to it

Got this jet on sale after seeing your pics and at first did not like it because of the FS9 interior graphics but after using it awhile it is growing on me. One thing I like to do is set it on autopilot and sit back in cabin seat number 4, turn on the music and turn down the lights and watch the world go from the window.

Took me awhile to get a good landing and I still average one out of three but it sure is fun trying.

I am new to X Plane and just the fact that you can get up and walk back to the cabin is cool. I wonder if there is a way to slow down the exterior free camera so I can walk up to the plane and go up the steps into the cockpit. As it is the outside free camera is too fast unlike the interior cam that is nice and slow.
