Monitor for night flying

Recommended Posts

I've had a 24" glossy monitor for the past seven years, and it's been horrible for night flying.  I'm going matte this time, and would appreciate any suggestions on what's most important in choosing a monitor for night flying purposes.  All I know at present is backlight bleed is bad, and a good contrast ratio is necessary.  Any help would be much appreciated.

OLED - but a good one is about 4k.  Don't buy last year models as Organic LED is improving.

No light bleeding on these.  When an OLED is off it is off and the black level is perfect for night flying.  Not a perfect technology but mostly the best screen I ever used for FSX.

Cheers

Thanks, jja.  OLED is out of my price range, so I'll keep hunting.  I've heard some good things about Samsung's 27" curved display...reviews are the backlight bleed is barely noticeable.
