My traffic 6 - Cannot not able to add in scenery library

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I installed My Traffic 6 into a clean FSX install. After running the My Traffic Communicator to "localise" FSX and My Traffic and also add the CFG entry (all as per the instructions), I try to add My Traffic in the Scenery Library in FSX. Problem is that My Traffic folder does not exist in the Flight Simulator X directory, so I cannot add it. I cannot find it by going to the folder direct either (outside the simulator. I can see the My Traffic Folder outside the FSX directory in the location is should be in but it has not placed any reference to itself in the FSX root directory.

I uninstalled and reinstalled and again, there is no My Traffic folder in the FSX main directory. What can I do?

This is a fresh Win 10 install and I previously installed it without any problems.

It's installed wherever you installed MT6 to. The MT6 base program is never installed into FSX. Mine is E:\MyTrafficProfessional

There should be a scenery directory inside of the MyTraffic directory .You'll need to point FSX to that.

I find SceneryConfigEditor easier to use than the FSX scenery dialog.

This is the entry I have for MyTraffic in the fsx.cfg in the Main section.  In my scenery.cfg, MyTraffic6 is located just above Propeller Objects as:  MyTrafficX6      C:\MyTrafficProfessional\MyTraffic.

What does Mytraffic install for scenery? Are you adding their afcad files to the scenery library? If so be careful, for all your other addon airport scenery you need to disable the bgl afcad file from MyTraffic for that airport. Duplicate afcad files lead to scenery display errors and possible out of memory

Thanks all,

For some reason I just do not recall adding My Traffic 6 to my FSX like this when I first installed it. I was convinced something had gone wrong when I could not find the directory inside the root of FSX. My bad because a close read of the manual does spell it out.

I am sorted now and T6 is up and running.

They had to put it outside of FSX so it could also be used for P3D instead of copying the directory over to the P3D main folder.  It's about 8 gigs as I recall and duplicating the directory was wasting drive space.  Glad you got it sorted.

Are you adding their afcad files to the scenery library?

Yes.  MyTraffic includes modified AFCADs for some airports to give them more parking.  It also includes scenery for several airports which aren't in the default install of FSX.

Normally these don't cause a problem, but if concerned, I would recommend a scan with Simple Airport Scanner to test for duplicates of payware or freeware airports.
